Balancing the rotation assembly increases power and durability. We balance every 383 engine we build. Before we crate the engine, we test every one to make sure they are built right. Overall friction is measured, oil pressure is confirmed, compression on every cylinder is measured, oil flow to the valvetrain and lower end is confirmed. Just firing an engine on a dyno will tell you that it will run.
We 100% test our engines to make sure that they will run for a long time.

- All of our High Tech Chevy 383 and Chevy Performance, Value Added B long blocks come with cylinder heads attached
and valve train installed. Valve covers, timing cover, oil pan, intake manifold and vibration dampner included (installed). Water pump and all other accessories are not included.
- All long blocks are blasted with steel shot. We power brush each oil gallery and cylinder, electro particle inspect for
cracks, precision grind head gasket mating surface, tap and clean all bolt holes, bore all cylinders, precision hone all cylinders, install new brass plugs, heat tab, gallery plugs, check deck height, precision hone all connecting rods. Rods are verified for twist and bend.
- We precision grind and polish all crankshafts, install new main, rod, and crankshaft bearings, install new camshaft, Install
new moly rings per application, install new pistons and wrist pins OEM specs. Verify final crankshaft thrust clearance, install new steel timing components, install new valve lifters, provide new OEM oil pump, install OE/Fel Pro/Victor gaskets.
- Each Head is diassembled and pressure tested. We machine guides to .015 oversize or install OEM guides, diamond hone
guides, soft seats replaced with hardened exhaust valve seats, machine valve seats (All three angles cut simultaneously), precision grind gasket mating surface, install new stainless steel intake valves, new exhaust valves at manufactures specs, precision grind valves stems to OEM height, install new valve springs, keepers and seals, install new rocker arms, lifters and pushrods.
- Each engine is run-in, all vital functions are certified. Oil flow is monitored on the run-in stand, external plugs
are checked for leaks, amperage is monitored to ensure clearances, vacuum checked to verify water jacket integrity, valve train components are checked for proper oiling.
You've probably heard the term rebuilt engine. You may have noticed our use of the term remanufactured engine and engine rebuilt kit. This may seem to only mean a minor difference in syntax. In fact, it means a major difference in product for the end user.
Remanufacturing is a very exacting process. Engines and component parts are completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, and carefully inspected. Engine parts and the assembly process meet stringent criteria and are remanufactured to the strictest OE standards. Components not meeting these stringent criteria are replaced with new. The finished engine is tested using state-of-the-art, computerized equipment. Simple replacement of parts, or rebuilding, your small block chevy engine will not result in the high quality product that remanufacturing produces
